Fins
Fins are available in two types:
· Full Foot Types:
o This type of fin has what can best be described as a built in shoe into which you slide your foot.
· Open Heal Types:
o To wear this type of fin you first must put on a shoe or boot, you then slide your foot into the foot pocket and adjust the strap.
Fins are then separated into two sub types, paddle bladed or split bladed.
· Paddle bladed or traditional fins as the name implies have a blade, which resembles a paddle. These blades are made from many different materials in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Blades will vary from very soft to quite stiff.
· Split bladed fins are recent development and are designed to be less stressful on your legs and ankles. A side effect from using a well-designed split fin is a reduction in air consumption. This brought about by reducing stress and fatigue and can have quite a remarkable effect on your body.
